Photo Broadside: Fire Away!!!!!

Posted by: MotherHen   in Fun Cowboy Stuff, My Pirates, Sweet Sally Mae

I got my camera!

I really have no idea how to move the pics around, or predict where in the post Wordpress will publish them, so bear with me. I wrote some captions before I realized that I have no idea what I’m doing. I don’t think it’ll be too hard for you to intuit which captions go with which pics, or maybe we can pretend it’s a puzzle. The thing is, if we wait for me to learn what I’m doing before I try it, well, you may never see any cute pics. So, give it your best shot. Here are the captions.

That’s my van.

Headless Squid. What??? You knew they were Pirates, what did you think they did with their free time?

From left to right : Billy Bones, The Squid, The Princess, Cannonball Jack.

The Cap’n and his William Wallace sword.

The birthday Pirates, Cannonball Jack on the left and Billy Bones on the right, handsome maties, ain’t they?

And they be best mates, too.

Well, half of the time, on a good day.

The Princess, of course!

The Frugal Part

The coolest part is that I can take pictures of my family and friends. I am enormously excited about that part.

The Frugal Fridays part is the deal I got on the camera. My friend, Faith M and I spent about 2 hours online doin’ our research. Actually, we found the best deal IN the store rather than ordering online.

My Very Dear Hubby and I went to Circuit City, the manager helped us. (MY opinion, the only way to go.) The in-store price was more than the on-line price, however Circuit City honors the online price in the store. The manager told us that the online price can change daily. So, shop on the same day you check the price.

Ain’t it a beauty? Here’s the deal I got. Pay for the camera (Canon Powershot A590) and the printer (Epson Stylus Photo R280) and get a mail-in rebate for the amount of the total cost of the printer. Saved $22 on the camera (difference between the online price and the listed in-store price), and got the printer for free!!!

That IS a good-looking crew you’ve got there Mother Hen!

I’m excited about your camera – that’s what started by blogging: a long-distance move, and a need to keep Grama’s in pictures! My beloved Man was kind enough to buy me a real hum-dinger, and I’ve enjoyed figuring out how to use it!

I don’t know how word press works (I use Blogger), but I found it a little tricky to get my pictures with the captions also.

My tip? type your post first, then upload your pictures and move them under each caption.
It sometimes takes a few (or many) editing sessions to see how it all works, but I think I’m finally getting the idea!
(hope that helps!)

Momma Bug~
Thanks for the photo-posting tips. I shall do that next time. I would much rather have the captions right with the intended photo. I do hope y’all scrolled up and down a couple of times so YOU could put the caption together with the right photo in your mind’s eye.
