Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.

Treasure Chest Cake

This week Billy Bones and Cannonball Jack are thinking about cake with candles and ice-cream and new pajamas and socks. What? Did you think I should give them toys? You should go read my post titled Man Over-Bored! I’ve tried giving them books for their birthdays, that doesn’t work because I give them books all the time. Oh, there will also be some sort of a surprise for them on Saturday, but I can’t tell you yet because they read my blog sometimes, especially when they see words like birthday and cake and gifts……….. you have children, you know what I mean.

Billy Bones has graciously donated a book for the Pirate Birthday Giveaway. It’s a brand new copy of one of the newly released Ballantynes from Vision Forum. The Cannibal Islands. This book is actually two books in one. The first story is The Cannibal Islands: Captain Cook’s Adventures in the South Seas. The second story is Fighting the Whales: A Tale of Doing and Dangers on a Fishing Cruise.

Pretty cool of that Pirate to give a book for the Pirate Birthday Giveaway. Also cool that it has two stories in it, considering we’ve got two Pirate birthdays this week.

The Rules

One entry per person. One extra entry if you blog about this giveaway, an actual post about this giveaway, not just a word or two as part of a list.

Again, this giveaway is limited to the continental 48. Shipping to anywhere else is just cost prohibitive.

You may enter anytime starting right now and ending Friday the 23rd of May at 7pm cdt.

If you’re gonna blog about it, please do so before Thursday, that way your readers will stand a chance of getting here before my deadline.

Now, for your entry, none of this, “Please enter me!” This is a birthday giveaway, so let’s have some birthday sentiments for the birthday Pirates. Billy Bones is turning 12, and Cannonball Jack is turning 10. A simple,”Happy Birthday” will be accepted, however, you know they would treasure a kind word of encouragement or advice for the coming year.

Everybody enter! My birthday Pirates are waiting to read your comments! Don’t let ‘em down, Matey!

Yo ho, Yo ho, the pirate’s life for you! I charted my course for this blog because Kim C. said there was treasure here. She was right!

On your birthday, please remember these life lessons for pirates. Avast Ye!

    1) Steer clear of the poop deck until you get your sea legs.

    2) Davy Jones locker is not a place for your school books.

    3) Don’t forget sunscreen.

Yo ho ho and a bottle of SPF 50!

  12. Momma Bug says:

    My dear Mates:
    Billy Bones, and Cannonball Jack,

I don’t know what a kind word of advice for a pirate would be, but let me say…

When blows the gale that tosses your ship upon the waves, look UP, young fellows, and anchor fast to The Rock!
Bravery comes naturally to the young man, but a life of experience can make even the stout of heart grow weary. Keep your map and compass close
to your heart, and watch ever before you to spy the land which you are headed.
    There, the greatest treasure awaits!
    Take courage!

    …and HAPPY BIRTHDAY lads!!!
