Staying Home

Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.

Because of the price of gasoline many of us “stay at home moms” are actually starting to earn our titles. I haven’t stayed home this much since ………… ever. So, yes, it’s a frugal behavior because, if I really wanted to, I could go out for the day, I’m choosing to stay home in order to save money. In my mind it’s different if you don’t have a choice.

Also, in order to be a good frugal choice, there should be more benefits than just the saving of money. Not mandatory, but helpful. This particular frugal behavior has many side benefits.

  • We could keep a cleaner house, maybe a little late Spring cleaning.
  • We could water and weed the gardens, encouraging them to produce more veggies and flowers.
  • We could read Treasure Island to the children, again.
  • We could learn to cook a few new meals for the summer.
  • We could get more fit because we have more time to exercise.
  • We could read Gone With the Wind, again.
  • We could finally take down the wallpaper in the bathroom and paint ships on all the walls.
  • We could organize the garage, once and for all.

Well, y’all can. I’m gonna be busy learning how to get the photos onto the blog using the new computer! ;D

Clarification- the entries RSS link under meta in the left hand toolbar subs to your old blog. The orange button in the right hand toolbar subs to this one.

I use bloglines, and at least on there when I click on your RSS feed link, it still pulls feed from your wordpress blog.

That’s us! No more running somewhere because I want to. Now I plan all of my trips and combine outings. It is remarkable how much more I’m getting accomplished around the house. I guess high gas prices are a good thing. (Well, no… but we are adapting just fine.)
