Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
Thanks, Kim, for keeping folks filled in. Can’t believe I couldn’t get online yesterday. I totally thought it was AT&T’s fault. I spent 2 hours on the phone with them and the only thing they could offer was to send an actual person to my actual house this morning.
Bright and early my at&t man (when did they start employing teenagers?) showed up. After he had been here about half an hour I noticed he was quietly making discouraged noises, not talking, just making quiet little discouraged noises. So quiet, in fact, that, had any of the youngers been awake and moving around, I’m sure I would have missed it. But the house was quiet and the repair man was not making happy aha! kinds of sounds. But more down-trodden oh and hmm kinds of sounds. I knew what it meant at the first sound, so do you think it was my eternal optimism or my unflinching denial that made me not ask what the sounds meant until about the third time he uttered them? Finally, I had to know the awful truth. So I sat down at the desk with the boy man and said, “You have something to tell me about my computer, don’t you?”
Do y’all remember the Hee-Haw song from the front porch? Sing with me now. Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Deep, dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren’t for bad luck (we do not officially subscribe to this doctrine), I’d have no luck (again, this is not something we support)at all. Gloom, despair, and agony on me.
I’m sorry, I’ve had that in me since about 8:45 this morning, and I actually feel better now.
Fact of the matter is this, I have to send my brand spankin’ new (refurbished) ‘puter back to the factory so they can correct some mysterious mistake on the hard-drive. Everybody together now! Gloom, despair, and agony on me…….

Oh man! You poor thing! I do hope it gets fixed fast…and doesn’t cost you too much…
Oh, I’m so sorry! These computers can be so frustrating! I’m in the midst of trying to figure out my new one and it’s exhausting!
Loved the post, though – so funny! And yes, I do remember the old Hee-Haw days.
Hope you get your friend back soon -
Blessings,
Nancy
