I have spent the whole day culling books from our bookshelves, integrating books purchased at the bookswap, and working out just what books we are going to use, because we are starting tomorrow. We have done a weird thing for our family and taken a break from academia during the summer. Just for a while. But we usually don’t do this, because it’s hot here and there isn’t much else to do that doesn’t involve being really hot. But we did take a few weeks off. So, now we are starting up again. In July of all things.
We had a fun 4th. Our plan had been to run errands and then the fella’s were gonna clean out the garage. Woo Hoo! Not really the stuff fond memories are made of, but it needed done, so that was the plan … and then the phone rang. Happy day, we’ve been invited out to the hill country to eat fajitas and spend the evening with KimC and her family AND meet the new baby. Now it’s a holiday!
I held that sweet baby so long that the next day I woke up with sore deltoids!
We had a fun time visiting with friends and eatin’ fajitas, and watermelon, and a very fine coconut cream pie, if I do say so myself!
It gets darker out in the country. I know, all of you that live out of town are shakin’ yer heads. But, when you live in the city for a lot of years, there are certain things that are not in the front of your mind. We sat out on the deck and watched the fireworks and blinded each other with the flashes on our cameras. We didn’t get any good pictures of fireworks, but it was a handy way to find out where all the children were.

We really enjoyed the evening with y’all!
Glad we lightened the day.
Going to a friend’s house and see a beautiful baby is always better than cleaning the garage :p
I like the pictures. I guess you live in San Antonio, TX?
