Come In, Brother

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed

What is summer without a walkie talkie?  Vision Forum has the coolest new Jonathan Park Communicator Watches.

Don’t you want a set?  I do.  So do some of my Pirates.  I think it would be handy to have the opportunity to call them on their wrist watches, you know, for dinner and to check if they think their room is clean and stuff like that.  I think they would find other uses for them.

So, back to my question.  Do you want a set?  Vision Forum is giving me a set to give to one of y’all.  And even cooler than that, they are giving KimC at Life in a Shoe the CD set Jonathan Park Goes to the Zoo so that she can give it away over there.

And Vision Forum has been so generous as to give me another exclusive free download of a whole episode from the new CD set.  Since every pirate “needs” one, I thought it would be fun to learn about the spider monkey.

To Enter:

I think it would be fun to tell how the Communicator Watches would be used in your family.  I’m not a real stickler, so if you have no children, you can tell how you would use them in the grocery with your Mr. or whatever.  You may also make up a scenario if you so desire.  Just have some fun and let us all in on it.  None of this, “Oh enter me!”  You hafta tell how you would, or your children would, or how you would like to use the Jonathan Park Communicator Watches.

This giveaway is for this week only, thanks to Karen, ‘cuz she complained about how long the August Giveaway takes. (Honestly, Karen, I try to make the month go by faster, but nothing I try seems to help!)  I’ll announce the winner of the Communicator Watches on Friday.

I’ll start you off with how my Pirates would like to use these watches.  We live in the suburbs, so we don’t have a lot of room, but the Pirates utilize every inch.

Can you imagine the fun as they communicate with each other while “hangin’ out” in the trees!

So leave a comment here.  Then go over to Life in a Shoe and enter KimC’s giveaway.

And subscribe to both of our blogs, because I have a giveaway every month and she’s starting a weekly giveaway.  Cheap is good, but free is better!

  1. My son and boyfriend would probably use them for everything! They run around the house all the time playing tag and hide & seek. How fun to add this into the mix!

  2. DeAnn says:

I know my little pirate/detective would love these. I can already see him wanting to have his cousins over so they can play in his clubhouse with them. What an awesome giveaway!

Andrew’s big, brown eyes pop open. The desperate knocking continues as he jumps out of bed and opens the door.
“Andrew, I need your help—someone left the door ajar last night, and my cat is gone!” Grace moaned through her tears. Always willing to help, Andrew hurries to pull on his boots. Racing down the stairs, he halts. With a grin Andrew scurries back to his room for his brand new Communicator Watches. Quickly handing one to his sister, he fastens the other watch onto his wrist as he simultaneously heads outside, assuring Grace that he will find Truman the Cat.
After ten minutes of thoroughly searching the backyard, Andrew spies the hapless cat high in a tree.
    “Grace? Over.”
“Yes? Did you find him? Over.”
“Roger, but he’s in a tree. Send T.J. with a ladder ASAP. Over.”
    “OK. Over.”
A few minutes later, T.J. arrives with the ladder. Leaning it against the tree, T.J. climbs up to the cat. Frightened by the noise of the metal ladder, Truman climbs further up into the tree and further out of reach! The two frustrated boys stand on the ground craning their necks to analyze the forlorn cat.
“Hey! I’ve got an idea,” Andrew announces after a few minutes of thought. “You use that long board over there to nudge the cat and persuade him to come to the ladder again. Keep him there while I climb the ladder and get him.”
Since he could not come up with a better idea, T.J. agrees.
Mustering all of his five-year-old courage, Andrew scrambles up the ladder as T.J. persuades the scared, stubborn cat to approach the ladder. Grabbing the cat, and with Truman’s back claws sticking painfully into his stomach, Andrew clambers down the ladder.
With his watch, Andrew informs his distressed sister that the prodigal cat is coming home.
    “Mission accomplished. Out.”

This is based on a true story with true characters, but minus the JP CWs. No animals were harmed in the writing of this story. :)

  4. Janee' says:

My 4 children would use them while roaming on our land, climbing in the trees, and playing in the woods. They would perform secret missions. They could also use them to call each other for help when they are watching the goats. They would have a blast on our land with those!!

  5. Rebecca says:

While I have 4 kiddos who’d love these, I think my husband would love them most of all. I can see him now, hiding one in my son’s bed and when he’s just in-between being awake and being asleep (you know, when the eyes are rolling back, but the mind forces them awake again… only to roll back in the head again a few seconds later) speaking to him in a low, dramatic tone:

    “Benjamin…” (son wakes up)

“Benjamin…” (son fully awake and looking around)

“Benjamin, I know what you did to your sister today.” (son has wide, wide eyes now)

“DON’T DO IT AGAIN!” (son nods quickly and emphatically, eyes wide in terror/shock, and then quickly becomes a turtle, hiding under his covers while hubby is laughing hysterically outside his door, watching it all transpire.)

Yep, that’s what would happen in our house.

  6. Yep, these would be for DH and I ;) . We live on a farm, and DH is often off somewhere, doing repairs, watching the cows, haying etc. etc. etc. etc. Sometimes I send the little girls after him to call him in for lunch. But how easy would it be to just get him on the watch. He also doesn’t own a functioning watch either!

  7. Cool! I’m not sure I would share these with kids. I can picture my husband and I at the grocery store after we split up the list of purcahse needs (“where do I find the tortillas, honey?” “look down aisle 5, babe.”). I doubt the kids would let us keep them to ourselves, though.
    Thanks for the chance!

  8. Anita Hiltz says:

These are so cool and know our family could really use these in so many ways! I have 3 kids and it would be great for them to where one on their arm when they go to a friends or playing out in front of the house or down the street. I could easily contact them when it’s time to come home or for them to let me know they went to another friends house, etc. What a great security device for them to have on! There has been times when I’ve called the house where the kids are at to tell them to come home and NO ONE answers the phone…so frustrating! Plus, we are going to Disney in a couple weeks and this would be great to have to keep in contact with the kids while they are in line for the rides and to also let us know when they are done with the ride so we can look for them! I think these walkie talkies would be a life saver for our family!!!
    ahiltzy@yahoo(dot)com

  9. Ashley says:

Divide and conquer, I think these would be great for my husband and I to keep in contact while out with our four boys. It’d be good even when we’re at home. We have a tendency to yell across the house, and it is not a rare occasion that we call each other’s cell phones from different floors.

I guess the boys could use them too!

  10. Katie says:

We would use our for when the kids are down the street and it is time to come in for dinner or for the night. Though they would probably want to play with both of them and talk back in forth so I wouldn’t have one to call them in with anyway. Thanks.

  11. Michelle says:

We live on 3 acres, and surrounded by cow fields. So we will be able to use these pretty easily. Yesterday our 10 year old went on a FAR bike ride (almost a mile) to find our dog. Meanwhile supper was ready. We could have called her on these instead of having to go out in the heat and track her down. So there you have it….

  12. Alisa says:

Wow! My four boys would probably team up and head out into our woods…..they love being out there and pretending all kinds of things! They love Jonathon Parks and will act out different things from the many episodes!
My daughter would also be quite happy for them to have these as the boys are always borrowing her walkie talkie set for their adventures in the woods!!
These would get much, much use at our house!!!

    blessings Alisa

  13. Anne-Marie says:

The “Destructo Twins” have been working together since birth…well, since the birth of the second, nineteen months later than the first. No, as you may surmise, they are not really twins. They do look a bit alike, and the question comes often.

Is there a wall to climb? A snake to chase? A goody to snatch from the cupboard? The “Destructo Twins” are on the case! In mom’s garden, they team up to pick corn and peas, to hunt down red tomatoes and green tomato worms, to pull the horrid squash bugs from the plants. In the house, well, some of their pursuits are less noble. But with ample space, this would be the ideal tool for their escapades. With a little positive direction from Mom, of course. Big brother’s fort, trash patrol, morning chores, you name it, and my young men would be happy to put such a tool to grand use!

  14. Alicia says:

These would be awesome! My children would love them…and I am sure they would come up with many ways to use them…playing “spies”, playing tag, riding their bikes, etc. It would be nice to have when they are outside that I could get their attention from inside….

Thanks for the chance to win.

  15. karen says:

Oh were do I began on all the uses I would have for these.

1 – shopping with my 9 year old. the 1.00 rack is here favorite and I can shop around at target :P ) oh course still not going far :)

    2 – camping

3 – when the kids want to come out of there room 100 times after bed time now they can call :)

  16. Kristine says:

My kids would love these. I can imagine all the things they would play and think up with them. I would love them for tracking down hubby or my oldest while shopping. The best would be in the house. We have a big, older house with high ceilings and everything echos. I constantly have to yell for the children (they always seem to be hard of hearing when I’m calling them) and using these would be much more fun. =) Best of all when we finally move these would be a great help in communicating! Maybe we could even use them on our drive down to our new state!
    Kristine

  17. Heather says:

I’m sure my boys would get a kick out of these. They’d probably use them to call each other silly names or tell their goofy jokes! hahaha

  18. My personal private I’s, er um kids, would love to use the for their spy adventures!

  19. Briana says:

My boys would LOVE these. They love playing army & spies! :)

  20. The Ford Family says:

Our family LOVES to go hunting. But us girls like to stay home in the warmth. We do like to keep in touch while the boys are hunting. These would really come in handy as they hunt here on our 80 acre property!!!!

Our family really likes Jonathan Park, too!

  21. Christyq says:

Oh, my son would love these. He’s been begging me for walkie talkies. We have over an acre of land and I’d much rather use a communicator than stand on the back porch hollering for my son to come in the house!

  22. Lavonne says:

I have a ten year old daughter who is always asking me for a cell phone and I don’t think she’s old enough or responsible enough to have one. But she has friends that live a couple of blocks away, and often the friends come over and ask if she can go out to play at their homes. I don’t feel comfortable letting her go without any way to get ahold of her if I need to, and I don’t trust her to take my cell phone and not lose it. I have thought of getting her walkie talkies and also worry about her losing one of them. But these would be perfect! Can’t lose it if it were strapped to your wrist!

  23. Happy Mom says:

(Happy Mom) Beep Beep: Quick son, we must run interference before the Communists take over the country!

(Adventurous Son) Beep Beep: Ok Mom, I think I see them coming, where should I hide?

(HM) Beep Beep: The garbage cans would provide the perfect cover, but wait, they’re out at the street, lying on their sides, oh no!

(AS) Beep Beep: If I hurry, I can pull them close to the house and get behind them before the Communists round the corner of the road!

(Scuffling noises, and a loud snap)

(AS) Beep Beep: Oh no, Miles Morgan is hiding in the bushes, and he’s between me and the cans! How will I manage to bring them back from the street?

(HM) Beep Beep: Stay calm, I can see you both from here, and I’ll cover you, it will be just like a team of honeybees. Look toward the house, and I’ll waggle our paper mache model of the honeybee that we made last month in our homeschooling co-op in the direction you should travel. Do you remember all of the ways the bees “dance” in order to direct one another to the nearest source of honey?

(AS) Beep Beep: Yes, God’s design of their system for communicating is incredible. I don’t know how anyone could ever believe it happened by chance.

(HM) Beep Beep: Ok, are you ready? I have the bee (sound of paper rustling)

(AS) Beep Beep: Got it, Mom! 20 degrees South by 15 degrees East, around the bush with Miles and toward the errant trash cans…..

(Announcers voice:) Will Happy Mom and Adventurous Son be able to get to the garbage cans in time? What about Miles Morgan in the bush? Tune in next time to see what happens in “The Adventure Continues; the Garbage Cans Reclaimed!”

  24. Danielle says:

I would love these for communicating with the kiddies when they are playing in the yard and I am in tending to the babies. I also love the idea of using them in the store to communicate with my dear husband. We often split off and then when it is time to check out we have to find each other. Quite often, our phones will not work in the store and we spend the time we saved looking for each other.

  25. Emily says:

Ok…these are so cool. My oldest would think I was the absolutely COOLEST if we used these things. I think he’d even be willing to go get a diaper or check on one of the little ones if I could talk to him as moved that way and he could give me a report!! LOVE THEM!

  26. Linda says:

I would use them with our niece and nephew or keep them to use in my children’s ministry!
    Thanks!

  27. NellyBelly says:

Our annual family backpacking trip is around the corner. With Mom packing a toddler and slinging a baby while encouraging the four year old to keep it movin’, there is bound to be a slow group and fast group this trip. The walkie talkie watch is so very portable and practical.

“You guys up front, make sure you wait for us and DON’T EAT ALL THE TRAIL MIX!”
“There is a fork in the trail. Which way did you guys take?”

My kids might also like the convienence of not having to tell the time by the position of the sun. We are a family of eight with Dad, Mom, Big Girl, Four Boys, and Baby Girl. Thanks for the fun.

  28. amber says:

I think that my fiance and I would have fun with my son. Either him or I take one watch and put the other on my son. Talk to him through the watch and wait for him to find us.

  29. Wendy says:

My two boys, ages 10 and 8 would love these! I think their daddy would too. They play outside almost all day and would have so much fun. I’m sure they would find a way to incorporate these watches into their Star Wars play also.

  30. Barbara Roberts says:

Oh, these would be perfect..I would use these for my 4 year old…Occasionally he wants to jump on our trampoline or play in our yard that is not fenced in. I also have a 2 year old little girl who loves it also. The problem arises when I have to run in the house for one moment, to get something, etc. Well, I make them come in with me, which we all know is impossible. This would make it possible for me to talk to him the whole time, run in, and run out!!! Mission accomplished!!!

  31. We have a split wing house, so these can be used alot! With my 2 little girs running around, this sure would be yelling across the house :) Not only that but we visit disneyland once a month! So these would come in handy when my husband and i need to split up! Boy would i love to have these :)

  32. Nellie says:

my little one loves to play hide and seek in the house, and this would be a great way for me to keep track of her or at least somewhat play marco polo with her.

  33. Jessica says:

I think these would be perfect for our family trip to Disney this fall!

  34. Karen says:

Nevermind! Just zipped over to VF…Up to 1.5 miles..that’s pretty smart. Very cool. The possibilities just grew – we could send the kids to Africa from the back of the property!
    :-) Wahoo!

  35. Karen says:

What’s the range on these beauties, anyway? I don’t think I’ve seen that detailed anywhere…

  36. My five children would pretend they are in outer space and use it to communicate with the mothership. I would use them to call people down for school, lunch, dinner, etc. instead of yelling. Maybe our house would be more peaceful:)

  37. Benjamin says:

My girlfriend and I would have many uses for these watches. We both enjoy hiking and outdoorsy stuff, but sometimes one of us will decide to trailblaze on ahead. These would come in handy for those moments when one of us decides to go exploring. For example: “Honey, slow down. You made me carry all the water.”

Another instance would be on trips to the grocery store. We’d be able to make quick work of the local deals! For example: “Honey, do we like sardines? They’re buy one, get one this week.” “No, we really don’t.”

    Benjamin

  38. Zoya says:

We used to have a set and were so sad when we lost one. It’s great when… shopping (even if before we had kids): my DH and I have usually shopped together at large stores like BJ’s or Sam’s club, and neither of our cell phones work there… Well, walkie-talkies DO! And since we’re interested in different things and always tend to lose each other in the stores, the walkie-talkies were a lifesaver (and a big time saver!) for us!
I would love to win a pair – it makes life so much easier!
    Thank you for the chance!

  39. Betsy Leach says:

I am sure that my two oldest children, ages 4 and 2, would love these.
They have recently been arguing with us at every nap and every bed time asking if (insisting really) that they sleep in the same room!

This way, instead of sneaking out of their rooms, they can simply talk to eachother via really cool walkie talkie watches!

  40. Amy says:

Ohhh… Santa would love to deliver these to my family. The neighbors would also enjoy them, as I would no longer be the mom yelling down the street every night as my daughter again goes riding her bike past the tree that is supposed to be the limit of her allowed play area.

And I can totally see my DH and I using these to talk to each other in stores, too. ;)

  41. Kathi says:

Oh my kids would have a ball with these in town I can hear them now. Mom come to the toy aisle there is a cool toy I want or at home they would probaly have each other bring them drinks and things to their rooms.
    They would love them.

  42. Jennifer says:

These are so cool! I would use these to keep in contact with my kids when they were outside playing, at the mall.. and with my hubby when we are at Sams Club or the grocery store.. Fun!!

  43. Megan says:

I am sure we could find dozens of uses for them! One of the things we could use them for would be to communicate from the house to the blackberry patch. Or I am sure they would come in handy for all kinds of outdoor games.

  44. Cherissa says:

My husband and two year old son, who are into all things tech and gadget, would LOVE these. However, ince we’re in the potty training process, I’m thinking perhaps I can teach my son the following code for calling me on the walkie talkies to notify me of a bathroom emergency:

“10-4, Little Eagle calling Mother Bird: We have a Code P. I repeat, Code P”

I’m betting this could be be a major aid to our potty training success. At this point, I’ll try anything.

  45. angela maas says:

We are going to disneyworld this fall and they would be great for communicating between families across the park. :)
    Angela

  46. Sarah says:

I would love a set for my husband and daughter. They love to run, hide, and jump on each other. I know this doesn’t sound very excited, but it really is the cutest thing to see. It would be great for them to have a new “addition” to their game by also adding the “find me factor” with this set. Knowing those two, they would hide from each other and use “hot/cold” clues to find each other.

  47. Elizabeth says:

This would work great for when we are riding bikes- we could communicate back and forth and also when my son goes outside to play, I could call him back in without having to hunt him down. What a fun giveaway! Thanks! Just found your site, by the way, and am looking forward to reading it some more.

  48. lana says:

I would love a set for my kids, they have very selective hearing and mom’s voice for some reason is not being heard all the time. If I can use the walkie talkies to roger the requests, I think I would get their attention.

  49. Carole says:

This is the best giveaway ever! We got the email about these watches last week and we (all 5 of us) are drooling over them since we’ve been in on JP since day one and we’ve always wondered if they would ever make communicator watches!
On to how we’d use them: we have a 1/2 acres of blueberries here in NE FL and my dh loves to get “lost” weeding or spraying or doing whatever and i can never find him when i need him PLUS whenever i say, “we need to leave at xyz time”, he says, “oh, but i don’t have a WATCH”!!!!
Enter the JP CWs :-) Thanks for the contest!!

  50. Forget the fun the kids would have with these (and they totally would) … I could see my husband & I using them when we travel! Would that be dorky!?

  51. rachel says:

My two boys, ages 10 and 7 would love these and would figure out more ways to use them then a simple adult could come up with in a whole week. I would definitely use them to fetch my kids in for meals and school1

  52. Monica says:

I would love to win these because every time I go to Wal-Mart with my mom she seems to “disappear”. I usually end up walking the store 2 or 3 times looking for her. This would be a great prize to win!

  53. Seesawstar says:

This would be -so- useful for our house. The baby’s only 3 months old, but when I’m stuck upstairs or downstairs with her, instead of yelling for my husband and making myself hoarse and then waiting for his excuse of “I can’t hear you” when I know for a fact that the next door neighbors can hear me I’m screaming so loud, I can just beep him. Oooh…the possibilities…I’m making myself drool just thinking about it.

  54. Naomi says:

We are newly married and my husband is the director of outreach at a Christian camp. Whenever I am at camp with him, I lose him constantly because he is walking around working. Now I’m having a baby in about 3 weeks and I was thinking how nice it would be to have walkie talkies so if the contractions are getting harder or something, I can just talk to him. . . and even in the meantime, it would be nice not to have to WALK to find him!

  55. Rachelle says:

How cool !! Ok with nine blessings to “watch” and teach. Things can get a little crazy. i could use one for me and then which ever blessings is on the loose (or causing trouble) I could say ” know stop that , finish you chores ect..!!” or ” stop bugging your sibling” I won’t have to even be in the room!! You know by the voices of the other siblings when something is about to happen !! I could stop it before it started! And wouldn’t they wonder how I knew what was going on !!!
You know the movie Monster INC. I could say I got me eye on you!! oh I know what a great way to wake them up in the morning!! ” this is your commanding officer, breakfast in 10 mins., out”
    Thanks-
    Rachelle

  56. Tatiana says:

My husband and i dont have any children yet but my husband truly enjoys things like this. I am sure that he would have so much fun!

  57. MotherHen says:

Why, thank you Melanie! I haven’t laughed that hard in a while! :D

  58. melanie says:

First off… i’m so glad Karen was impatient on the Sargeant York giveaway cuz I don’t think I could wait a month for this one too! :)

I have 2 boys that would absolutely love the communicator watches. But I am invisioning another future for the communicator watches!

I see me… outside in the hammock under the palm trees calling … “Come in… I need a lemonade refill please.” Or ” the sun is getting pretty bright, please come adjust the umbrella” And later they would call to me… “Mom, come on inside now… dinner’s ready!”

Now you and I both know this wouldn’t happen, but it sure is fun to dream! :)

  59. Karen says:

Hey, first off, may I say THANK YOU for the much briefer (is that a word? I said it out loud several times and it sounded weirder each time!) contest this time! I think I can actually stand the suspense!

As for what my kids would do with these? What WOULDN’T they do!? They would take ‘em on bike rides. Play “army” in the woods and communicate the enemy’s location. Put one on the cat’s collar and freak her out by “communicating” with her. Wait. Can grown-ups play, too? I would put one in a kids’ bedroom, wait for the lights to go out, and then have Daddy intone, “Benjamin! This is GOD! Go to Africa! And be niiiiice to your brother!!”

    Yeah. These could be fun.
    ;-)

  60. MamaOlive says:

I saw your link from “in a shoe” and am glad I came over. Now to business: Our family of 8 could use the communicator watches in many ways. When we are at the store and I take a detour after an item I almost forgot, when we are in the park (or local forest) and the boys want to go exploring, when the children play “ambulance,” when I’m following my hubby in the car and miss a turn (or get behind at a red light), well, I don’t get a chance for every use listed, so I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. But they would definitely get used around here.

  61. Cindi says:

Greetings, September is the birthday month for our family! My husband and son both have birthdays next month plus others not in our immediate family. I would love to win these watches for my husband and son for surprise birthday gifts. They love electronics and gadgets. I know they would use them while at baseball games of both of our sons. Our two sons could use them together. Please enter us in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

  62. april says:

    HI,

My three boys would have a blast with these walkie talkies. HOwever, my little girl would love it as well. My oldest son goes and gets the newspaper for the pastor every day and this would be great to have to keep up with him. My boys are always playing spy or daniel boone hiding in his fort from the indians. I guess they would have to pretend that daniel boone invented a walkie talkie watch for him and mingo. “Come in Daniel there is an INdian about to attack you”

Anyway, MY boy’s eyes popped when they saw those walkie talkies.

Thanks for having such a great giveaway.

    April

  63. april says:

    Hi,

I have suscribed to your blog. And have often read your blog by clicking on your comments at life in a shoe. How do I send you an email. I see no email listing on your blog.

    Thanks,
    April

  64. Stacy says:

Oh…my 9 and 6 year old pirates would have a heyday with these. But the practical side of me says that I would have one and one would go with them outside to play so that I wouldn’t have to figure out which neighbors backyard the adventure is in today. Also, my mom lives behind us so I would let them walk the block to grandma’s more often if I could keep tabs on them with this. Of course, what I really see happening is late night conversations between two sets of bunk beds in different rooms..lol.

  65. Mama Hen says:

Oh I know my kids would LOVE to have those on while we are camping. They tell me all the time that we need walkie talkies. I can just see them, one hiding behind a rock, another by a tree, talking back and forth. Or I could keep one at camp and call them back for dinner. I could keep going1

  66. Letisha says:

scenario: my 7 year old can walk over to Grammy’s house. “Mom, I just walked off the porch. Mom, I just walked through the gate. Mom, I just walked through the path. I am near the pond. I just saw a bird fly over the pond. Mom, I am now entering Grammy’s front door. Mom, I inside Grammy’s house. Okay, now heading back home with your eggs to bake a cake!”

or 7 year old and 5 year old could communicate more clearly in the 15 passenger van!!!

    Thanks!

  67. Sherry Kain says:

Child 2 to Child 3: “I’m in the fort, bring candy!”
(Mom intercepts transmission and sends love note (to practice reading) with one cookie each.)

Children 1 and 4 to boys: “Tell Grandpa and Grandma the water show starts at the creek in 10 minutes”
(Mom brings beach towels they forgot and nickels for the tickets)

Child 2 to mom and dad on night of his birthday, as he sleeps with his new communicator watches: “Thank you! I love you too!”

I would finally get to keep my cell phone all to myself! Whenever one of the kids wanted to pretend (on a side note, I almost put quotation marks around the word pretend, laughed at myself, because they really are pretending, duh!…anyway, back to the story) to talk on my phone, I could just say, “Hey, go get those awesome walkie talkies we won from one of my mommies funny blog friends and talk to your brother!

This is a great giveaway!! I am a mom of 4. 2 boys and 2 girls, but I think it would be my boys (ages 3 1/2 and 5)who would love those. I think they would use them at bed time. Huddled under the covers whispering into them and laughing. They also love hide and seek and I am sure they would use them to be able to get a leg up on me, Tattling to the other when I get close LOL.

I have one kiddo that would live outside if he could and another that isn’t quite so fond of the great outdoors. I’d love to let my older son go outside without him coming in and out and in and out and in and..oh you get the idea. He always has a million questions and these would be great to keep the entire bug population out of our house! What a great giveaway!!

I like the idea of using them to tell the kids to clean their rooms but Im sure the kids would love them to communicate with one another from Grandma’s house to our house… on the other side of the retention pond. :)

  72. Oh, yay! What a great giveaway! Of course, mine would be using them just the way your pirates would – running around the property talking to each other – or possibly from room to room after they are supposed to be going to sleep for the night. I have two that, being one year apart, never want to separate from each other. They are in different bedrooms, one being a pirate and the other a princess, and we are constantly telling them to get in their respective rooms and go to sleep, so I’m sure these would thrill them!

    Thanks for the fun giveaway!

    Blessings,
    Nancy

Oh, I can only imagine all the different uses my little girls would find for these! They’ve become great buddies over the past month, and they love playing hide and seek! I think they would probably pretend they were phones… *grin*

I would love to have 5 sets so we can all be called from the nether regions of the acreage without me having to raise my voice!

So instead of saying, “If you’re a Peterson, or playing with a Peterson, you better get your filthy booties inside the house for dinner!”

I can say the preferable, “Darling children… and the darling children of my friends, please come into the house for the delicious dinner I have prepared with such a loving attitude…”
