Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
I actually have three different things to tell you about today, (so I had to write them down, really) and only one of them has anything to do with our 30 Days o’ Nuthin’ progress.
Please direct your attention to my left sidebar, where you will find the nifty-cool, piratey button, custom made for Ship Full O’ Pirates, just yesterday, by the very person who put together my awesome, handsomest blog on the net, header. If you’ll click on her button in the sidebar, it’ll take you to her page and you can learn all about her and how you, too, can hire her to create your dream header for your blog. ‘Cuz really, she did a fabulous job on mine! Thanks Kait!
Next, I would like to point out that this 30 Days o’ Nuthin’ thing is not for the wimpy lazy froofy old me. Change, yes, our old nemesis change. Ooh-wee! Most of the change is, actually, only taking place in my head, and that’s quite enough for right now, thank you. Just thinking of all the ways that money is running through our fingers like water is making me a little sea sick. So, I have to focus down on one thing at a time. One change at a time. Totally do-able. Just change one thing. And keep it up. One thing after another. But just one at a time.
My next thing is cloth napkins. Yesterday I spent a few minutes doing some online research about it. I read all the possibilities and discussed it with my Very Dear Hubby during the 5 minutes of quality time we had together last evening. (Overtime is an awesome thing on a paycheck, not so much for family togetherness.) The decision was made that I should make at least 4 dozen, double-sided napkins of a largish size, probably 15 – 16″ square. You see, Pirates are not known for their tidiness at the table. The fabrics are a variety of lively prints from my box in the back of my closet. See? No gushing forth of cash. Not even a trickle.
So, I’ve washed and hung my fabrics and today I’ll begin sewing them and I’m telling you about it now so I’ll keep my word and stay on track with this.
And the final thing I have to tell you about today is that if you’re gonna jump rope, it’s important to wear the proper shoes. Being the stay-at-home sorts, and home being in Texas where it’s HOT, the crew is not required to wear shoes on a daily basis. And really? A bunch of Pirates aren’t gonna put ‘em on without a direct order! And the Princess is no different. This is what passes for Princess shoes ‘board this ship, even for Sundays.
So when she decided she was gonna master the jump-rope this morning, it just wasn’t happening for her. Until I stopped surfing the net for one minute and gave it half a thought. Duh, you wear tennies for rope jumping! Success!
