Day 5

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed

Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.

When you think about it, do you really want to read about nuthin’ for 30 days?  If that doesn’t make sense to ya, go back and read what all the nuthin‘ is about.

So, how many times in a week would you like to hear about me not going shopping, or not ordering anything over the internet?

I guess a few things are happening.  There is a slow trickle of money leaving our bank account, but it is way slower than ordinary months.

The gasoline is such a bargain at $3.47 that my Very Dear Hubby went hog wild and bought $70 worth.  Actually, he usually buys $100 worth at a time, I guess he’s counting on it getting a little lower before he needs more.

I paid the bill on our cell phone yesterday, $40.37, and no I didn’t change our plan to a cheaper one for the month.  I just have a really good plan as it is.

Hubby went to the grocery last evening for a few essentials, $25, crazy how fast it adds up.

KimC went to the produce market downtown yesterday and bought a ton of produce to split with us and a few others.  We got 3 big boxes of fruit and veggies and a big bag of lovely red onions all for only $47.50.  This is the best way to eat, for the best price.  Our produce market downtown has very high quality food for much cheaper than the stores.  This is a handy trick to know.

Thanks for letting me know! I am going to have to check that out.

You know, we just moved out here from San Antonio not too long ago, and oh am I homesick. I miss San Antonio. Especially the mexican food (food here is just not the same) and Bill Millers. Yum! And I had no idea about that produce market when I lived there.

I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about my cell phone. I love my cell phone. I get unlimited minutes and unlimited long distance for my $40. It’s Pocket, they’re local, how limited I have no idea. It’s entirely possible you might have it there in Houston. I’m in San Antonio. I hear Cricket is comparable. With Pocket it’s a prepaid situation, so there’s no contract. I’ve had mine since the company was brand spankin’ new, and I love the unlimited minutes! If I had to concern myself with paying by the minute I just don’t think I would have a cell phone.

That is a great price for a cell phone! I checked around, and the best I could get was prepaid phones from Kroger. I try not to use the minutes, and I can just buy them whenever I need them. Do you mind if I ask what company you use?

Also, what area in TX are you from? I am righ outside of Houston. That produce looks yummy!
