Giveaway Winner!
Merry Christmas to all of my readers.
First let’s reveal the winner of the CD The Role of Children in the Meeting of the Church.
I used the Random Integer Generator to select this weeks winner. Out of 18 entries the R.I.G. gave me #17, which is Abby whose comment spoke to my heart. She said:
My mom and I like to make Christmas dinner simple and fun. We slave away for Thanksgiving not for Christmas! Crock pot Ham( from our own pigs) Crock pot yams, rolls, vegi tray, cranberry jello & cookies! Christmas dinner will be at my house this year. I’m so excited. I have five little ones and like the idea of being home for Christmas!
Next time I make a ham (which will be Friday) I’m gonna see if it’ll fit in my crockpot.
Anyway, I have already emailed Abby with the critical info.
I haven’t decided what to do about any future giveaways, so stay tuned.
Family Fun!
The Cap’n and I went to the grocery store late last evening and got all the ingredients to make Puppy Chow. He did the work and I got to see if I could fool any of the smaller children (who were asleep during the planning and preparation stage of this treat) into believing I was eating actual dog food with my coffee this morning. I “got” two of ‘em.
I was so inspired by the easy and delicious-ness of the fudge that I helped The Princess make yesterday that I decided to branch out into other fudgy wonderful-ness. Also, Mary reminded me that some folks just can’t eat peanut butter. So, I went in search of the perfect Mint-chocolate fudge recipe and ended up, after lots of research, having to improvise. Here’s what I came up with.
Easy Mint-Chocolate Fudge
You’ll need:
- 3 cups milk-chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tablespoon mint extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
- Put the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a large glass bowl. Zap in the m’wave on medium until the chips are melted, about 3-5 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking. (Don’t walk away from this part, if the chocolate bubbles very much the fudge will be kinda grainy.)
- Stir in mint extract. Add nuts if desired.
- Pour into 8×8 baking dish lined with greased foil. Refrigerate for at least an hour until set.
This is so easy, just go make some and your family will rise up and call you blessed.
