Something really cool happened at our house today.
We have had our share of computer roller-coaster rides in the past year or so.
This is our computer area. My desk is on the right, with my nice desktop computer. Thanks, Hubby!
In the middle is the laptop that Garfield and Steph gave us. Thanks, you two!
And, (fanfare) on the left, (bigger, louder fanfare) is our old (yet great) desktop computer, recently resurrected from the real blue screen of death!!!

I may never see the front of their faces again. (sigh)
But, remember the great deal I got on the monitor I bought at the Thrift Store? It’s finally being used. YeeHaw!!!
Maybe we should move another desk in here. What do ya think?

We have three kids as well and two working computers (right now, and we have an orphaned computer that needs some work). The scrum is always on for computer time. We also have the computers spread over the house. We may employ your method and place them in a communal area.

We also have 2 computers. I’m hoping to move one upstairs soon to free up some space!
We are buying another (refurbished) laptop in order to get a second computer because the kids are always on mine!!!
We do actually have a second, but it’s not hooked to the internet. Angela used it for her Switched on Schoolhouse.
Guess how many we have? Well, I’m not exactly sure myself now I think of it but there is at least seven! Guess how many we have actually functioning and hooked up? ONE! This will change when we finish renovating the study I’m told!
