Homemade Yogurt

Posted by: MotherHen   in Belly Timber (food)

It’s late and I’m tired, but I made yogurt in my crockpot today (for the first time ever) and I had to stay up late and wait for it to be done.  Not only was this the first time I ever made yogurt in my crockpot, it’s the first time I ever made yogurt at all.

I used the recipe from the Crockpot Lady.  It was super simple and easy to accomplish.  And the bits that I licked off of my fingers while pouring it into the jars was very yummy.  Tangy, yet creamy-mild.

Ya gotta try this.

Funny that you posted this today. I bought my starter yogurt yesterday and will be trying my hand at making yogurt in a crock pot for the first time, too!

WOW! That looks really interesting! Problem is, we don’t eat that much yoghurt and we’d have to eat a gallon of it in seven days. Not sure we could manage that. Bother, because it sounds really fun.

Well, not essential, but if you’re interested, it’s only a half gallon. :D
