Got a Pirate? He wants to read this book. Princesses love it too.
Here’s the write up, straight from the Vision Forum website.
The Pirate City is the story of the Algerian pirates who were the scourge of the Mediterranean sea during the early to mid-1800s. They would plunder the ships of other sovereign nations, and as a result were a wealthy little city-state, until their demise in the Barbary War. In this story, set during the heyday of the pirates, a merchant and his sons Mariano and Lucien are captured aboard their trading vessel, and taken as prisoners to the pirate capital of Algiers. A rousing tale, the reader will follow their adventures to rescue other prisoners, experience life in the pirate city, and join in their attempts to escape. Forced to endure slavery as “Christian dogs before their Muslim captors,” the heroes rely on Providence to bring deliverance, and ultimately win their freedom through their friendship with the Dey — the ruler of the city. R.M. Ballantyne actually spent time in Algiers and dressed himself as an Arabian to research this book, and its historical accuracy is amazing as the reader learns about life with the Algerian pirates.

Update!
The links were misbehaving due to a server error for a day or two, so I am extending my giveaway until Monday.
This giveaway is only open to mailing addresses in the lower 48. Sorry, Jess, but shipping to Tasmania seriously cuts into the chocolate budget.
Before you go back to the Bloggy Giveaways take a minute and check out my round up of helpful tips for moms of lots, called Help for Growing Families.

I’d love the Ballentine book collection. Although, I’d love to own the Fireproof movie and those wonderful doll clothes! Thank you for offering this great giveaway!
Blessings,
Lisa
The Firefighter Comet Pedal Car is neat
Fireproof caught my eye. I have heard wonderful things about this movie!
My son would love any of the Adventures of the Boy Detective items.
Thanks for the opportunity,
Beth
I think the Sneakiest Uses for Everyday THings book is cool. I’m sure I’d regret it if I bought it for my son though!
The Firefighter Comet Pedal Car is pretty cool.
i second the Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends. That is a dream I have for my 3 boys. Thanks for the chance as we regularly have 3 little pirates running around the house!
Boys Classic Literature Collection (7-Vols)
Oh, wow! That’s the coolest website! (Big Daddy will not be happy that you showed that to me.)
But I am! I’d love to have the cross sword and shield for my son – he’s in this phase of turning everything into a weapon and chasing his sisters. I’m trying to teach him to be their protector instead. We’ll see how well that goes.
I liked the book “making brothers and sisters best friends”.
After hearing all the rave reviews about Fireproof I would like to give that a try. It is really hard to chose from so many great things though.
fireproof-I’ve heard so much about it!
I would love to learn to juggle so those might be fun.
Sneakiest Uses for Everyday Things…
Asking me to pick my favourite Vision Forum product is like asking me to pick my favourite kid…it just can’t be done. This may be cheating…I hope it isn’t cheating…by I have always wanted to have the entire set of The Children’s Hour books lined up on our shelf. (I know it is more than one, but they do sell it as a set.) I know my son would love to read The Pirate City.
Hmm, we plan to buy Fireproof at some point, though the budget is tight right now….but I think my favorite thing on the VF website is the Battenberg lace parasol. We bought one for our 2yo niece for Christmas….I’ll admit to being a little jealous!
Arrh… I am a pirate at heart, matey. Choose me name to win and I’ll think about lettin’ ye live! Do we have an accord?
(I’ve heard good things about Fireproof, so I’d like to see it sometime).
Thanks.
Oh, I want to see Fireproof sooooo badly. But I know the pirates in my family would love to hear about real pirate stories!
The Sneakiest Uses for Everyday Things book looks really neat.

Love the John Deere wheelbarrow.
I really want to read passionate housewives
That climbing set looks kind of cool…
I want it all from Vision Forum. I really want to read Desparate Housewives and get a doll for my little girl. My boys pour over the catalog when it comes in. ONe of my sons saved his money and bought the remote control land/water vehicle (can’t recall the name right now) and he loves it. THe other son got the throwing knife for Christmas and loves it.
I found lots of things I would like, but the Juggling Balls look like lots of fun. I would love to have the R.M. Ballantyne Adventure Library, too. What an amazing collection.
Ahoy! I am here to say that we already own The Pirate City and my young pirate agrees heartily that it is a great read for any young pirate or princess.
Just for fun, since we already own the book, I would love to have the DVD, League of Grateful Sons.
Right now the top item on my list is Fireproof, but my dream is the G.A. Henty collection. I have just one lone Henty book admist all my tomes.
I think I would chose Fireproof or any DVD they carry. I’m looking forward to renting that one soon, as we have not seen it yet.
*Maybe you should quit reading*;=)
I am afraid you are going to try to talk me out of my sugar/preacher cookie thing.
