Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
We played with our lunch today. I know, the normal song I sing at lunch goes more like, “Stop playing with your food and eat already!” Today it was the opposite. “Don’t eat that yet! Play with it a little first!”
??? Confused???
We had play dough for lunch. It’s ok, I made it outta food. It was the best lunch time ever. The kids all had a blast. And they ate pretty good, and cleaned up very thoroughly. Amazing what a little laughter at lunch does for everyone’s attitude!
I read a lot of recipes while putting together my Help for Growing Families post and ended up just winging it. This stuff is really hard to mess up.
Here’s what I did (approx.):
- 1 jar peanut butter (we used natural, don’t know if that matters)
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder (if you are gonna have fun it may as well be chocolate)
- 1 ½ cups dry milk powder
- ’bout ½ cup honey
I used my mixer, but it seemed like it mixed pretty easily, I think you could just use a spoon.
I set out little bowls of “decorations”:
- peanuts
- raisins
- craisins
- dried pineapple (yum)
- I would have included chocolate chips if I’d had any
We had some kinda fun. We are all grateful for edible play dough.
Here’s your shortcut back to Gratituesday.
