Free Audio Stories

   Posted by: MotherHen   in Extra-Categorical

Looky what I found at Wasted Textbooks!  Free Audio Resources for the kids.

Most of them are not Bible stories, but they are fun stories that were popular on records when I was a little girl.

We are listening to Cinderella right now.    The stories are narrated and dramatized just like old timey radio shows.  A little over the top on the sound effects in places, but captivating, none the less.

They’re called Kiddie Records Weekly: Classics from the Golden Age.

Gotta love FREE stuff!

Here’s your link to Frugal Friday.

The first link, which you titled “wasted textbooks” brought up a page about “Why McDonald’s Fries taste so Good.” hmm.

Going to check out the Kiddie Records now.

Sorry ’bout that. All fixed now. The McDonald’s link was for a page I was writing for my recipe blog, Homemade and Wholesome, telling what variety of wholesome I am aiming for, and why. http://itswholesome.wordpress.com/why-bother/

Just wanted to drop in and say Great Information! I have been there before and I love it! These also remind me of my childhood. My sister and I would sit in our little closet and play our records on our record player and laugh and giggle all afternoon!

When I was 24/25yo, I went to Norway on a Church Mission. I was introduced to some funny kids music. At this moment, my brain has gone on vacation and I can’t remember what the group was called. I loved to hear kids music, it helped with the learning of the language.

Since the songs were funny, I played the cassettes to my kids when they were young. They didn’t understand the words, but the music was so fun, it didn’t seem to matter. I think they thought the words were purposely goofy and strange to add to the craziness of the music. They did not recognize them as Norwegian words as they only know a few words. Memories!

Thanks for bringing up these memories.
