…in which I am immortalized in song

Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.

…or do I mean mortified?  Just kidding, Dave!

Y’all have heard me refer to Dave several times.  I realize that most of y’all are stretchy pants wearin’, chronically tired, stay-at-home,  homeschool moms of several lively punkin’ headed little kids.  But not Dave!  He’s a stretchy pants wearin’, chronically tired, stay-at-home, homeschool Dad of several lively punkin’ headed little kids.

And I think that is the greatest!  You Go, Dave!  You be the Dad!  I just like to have some fun with the fact that he’s, well, you know, a guy, and as such, is in the minority here among all of us ladies.  And, really, stay-at-home homeschool Dads who blog are just about the bleeding edge in teasable minorities.  Shoot, they may be the final frontier!

So, Dave, I thank you, for being so bold as to stand among us, laundry basket under one arm, slimey, diaper-wearin’ tot under the other, being a great virtual-friend, and knowin’ how to cheer on a fellow blogger who is, frankly, relentless with the teasing.

For those of you who did not read ALL of my comments and click on ALL of the links there-in (where are your priorities, people?)(oh, wait, that’s what this is all about, never mind), Dave has written a fabulous ode to my blog’s greatly exaggerated, and prematurely reported death.  And he did it in my favorite style, piratey, ahem, I mean parody.

You really gotta go over to Dave’s blog and read the whole post, he’s a real whiz of a writer and there’s also some stuff in there that is not about me, not sure ‘cuz I skimmed that part.  But, I’m pasting the song here so I never loose it, because it’s not creepy that a reader wrote a song about me, no matter what my real life friends say, really, it’s not!

Bye Bye Blogs

She was a blogger
A virtual friend
‘Til her days of blogging
came to an end

Her blog was helpful
And filled with mirth
But her 6 children
It was not worth

So she said
Bye bye blog
Hello family
do you remember me
I used to blog about you

Bye bye blog
I’m sad we have to part
Your not my children’s heart
I’m not called to care for you
Your not the love that’s true

‘Twas not a fortnight
Less than a week
Her blog it came back
With a few tweaks

Blogs can be useful
When in their place
She’ll find the balance
with our God’s grace

So she said hello blogs
Your not my idol now
won’t make you a golden cow
I know what matters most

Hello blogs
My blogs not what I am
If it was. it would all be spam
I won’t forget my post
Or I’d be a bad host
I love it!  Thanks, Dave!
For those of you not familiar with the tune of Bye Bye Love, here is Ricky Nelson and some boys wearing matching suits to sing it for you.
