True Confessions of a Lazy Gardener

It sure is a good thing Carri @ Home of the Peterson Clan is starting a Gardening Linky on Fridays!  It’s called The Garden Club.

Otherwise the current condition of my garden would be a private matter.  Hey, Carri, why is this a good thing?  This Garden Club?  Because look at these pictures!  This is embarrassing!

Some teenagers and a hubby should do something about this!

Actually, my Very Dear Hubby had already planned on getting the garden ready and planted this Saturday.

Pretty sure my part involves bringing him and the Pirates tall glasses of iced tea and saying sweet things like, “Wow, cool composting, my darling!”  AND “Wonderful weeding, boys!”  AND  ”Perfect planting, fellas!”

And then I’ll serve them a delicious Spaghetti dinner and put Pirates of the Caribbean in the DVD player after they’ve all had a shower.

Come back next Friday and see what massive improvements have been made.

For now, go back to  The Garden Club and have a look at what gardening efforts others are making.

And since gardening is such a frugal thing to do, here’s a link to Frugal Friday.

And since gardening is green, here’s a link to Heavenly Homeaker’s Little Green Project.

I love this post – very cute pics and captions. We’ve been wondering in our house: did The Cap’n provide the broccoli pic for petersonclan’s Garden Club button?

Your garden looks awesome, in all its naked soil glory. I am much farther north (we shouldn’t plant outside until May) but so far I only have a half filled garden box. A few more hours of soil reallocation and no snow and I should be in business. Or at least a little closer to fresh produce. Can’t wait to see next week!

  4. If you have volunteer aloe vera, you must live somewhere as warm as I do. Next year you could have a fall garden and harvest food all winter! Right now we are harvesting lettuce, turnips, green onions, and herbs.

Come on over and see my garden! My name links right ovr to my garden page.

Yes, this is a very good idea! Think how wonderful it will feel next week to post about how nice it looks!!!

Be sure to include some, “Could I please have the peas planted here, dears?” ;) And “BTW – I need 45 tomato cages made, and we need some frames to let the beans grow up them, oh yeah – and did I mention that the dogs are sleeping in the garden since the composting process is producing heat, and now I need a fence built around it too… ”

Wait- that would be ME bossing the kids around… um I mean giving gentle directions. ;)
