Tried a new bread recipe today.  I’ll spare ya the recipe.  Suffice it to say too much yeast is a bad thing.

So, we had holes in the bread and some seriously cute, yet hungry kids.  pb & honey for the squirts and toasty cheese for the rest of us.

Very yummy, yet structurally challenged bread.  Super delicious and filling sandwiches.

The recipe for the sandwiches is at Homemade and Wholesome.

mmm, I love cheese toasted under the broiler. Especially good English cheddar. Think I’ll have some for breakfast.

Does eating “Holey” bread bring you closer to God? LOL! Just kidding. At least it was edible.

Well, I could call it self-righteous bread, huh?

Ages ago, when my children were used to store-bought bread, I made a batch of homemade. I didn’t roll it up tight enough and there was a great, big hole through almost every slice. They didn’t want to eat it – some even cried! Desperately, I turned the bread upside down, and made the hole a mouth so the bread could “talk” about how happy it was to be eaten by hungry children – that was its destiny. I took a huge bite, so the bread “screamed” about how Mom bit it and fed its nose to the baby. All of a sudden, everyone laughed like crazy… and to this day they still reenact the story for the littles who weren’t around at the time… :-)
