Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
It’s not city life, it’s not country life, it’s suburbia. So, we do have a fair share of wildlife. About 40 years ago our neighborhood was pasture land, but that seems like a long time for animals to be hangin’ about.

What we get a lot of are the opportunistic, omnivore types. Such as our devil-spawn visitor from a couple of weeks ago.
BTW, he returned. In our veggie garden, no less! He thought it was the greatest place to be, considering all the FOOD and the multitude of hidding places.
I thought differently.
Tex caught him and put him in a cage in our garage, aka his private holding cell, to await (possibly illegal) relocation to a (not terribly) nearby, wooded area.

The day before yesterday one member of our flock of pigeons that we feed out front got caught up in some kite string that had been stuck way high between a few of the neighbor’s trees and our trees. One of our neighbors cut it loose and handed it to Rowdy.
Pigeons are so docile.
He put it in a cage in the garage with some seed and water for a day of rest before being set free yesterday morning. I don’t know why I didn’t photograph him while he was captive, but he’s doing fine and here’s a shot of him that I took this morning.
This morning it was a baby blue jay. We had been watching mom and dad blue jay feeding with our flock of pigeons. Kinda busy, those blue jay parents. We got to watch them take turns eating while they traded off nest sitting duty in the tree across the street.
Gotta wonder why they chose that tree. Cats live in the yard under that tree. So we also got to watch the air show involving two adult blue jays and three hard headed felines. Some cats are slow learners.

Well, this morning one of the baby blue jays was on the lawn beneath that tree over there across the street. Ya know what? In that house under the tree where the parent blue jays built their nest so near to where those cats hang out……… lives a compassionate teenage girl who just happens to be very proficient at wildlife rescue (homeschoolers, gotta love it!).

I almost forgot, look in the right sidebar for my a/c poll. Have you voted yet?

We are Pigeon People. My hubs raised pigeons for years when he was a child. We are currently considering letting the Cowboys raise some.
I can’t believe you caught that! I dislike pigeons.
