More Twinkle Manufacturing!

I always forget how much Rowdy dislikes my favorite chocolate chip cookies. That’s because they are so scrumdily-umtious (I know you’ve been wondering how to spell that, don’t forget the hyphen!) that there’s just no way anyone could not like them!
But Rowdy doesn’t. I think he needs a total tastebud transplant, but instead, I just make him the:
Peanut Butter Cookies from Heaven!!!
Cream together:
- 2 cups butter, slightly softened
- 2 cups peanut butter, one whole small jar
Add one at a time:
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 Tablespoon baking soda
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 3½ cups unbleached white flour
- 12 oz package of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, but Rowdy thinks this is standard.)
Mix it well. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Make ping-pong size balls and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Use a fork dipped in sugar (once after each impression) to make the homey criss-cross pattern and to flatten the cookies a little, not too much though.
Or you can dip the bottom of a drinking glass into the sugar and use that to flatten out the cookie, but then it doesn’t have the nostalgic, memory-making, criss-cross pattern that is just so lovely.
Just use the fork method, for cryin’ out loud!
Now bake ‘em for about 10 minutes @ 350°. Let ‘em cool a bit on the tray, these are tender, wonderful, delicious cookies.
By the way, they’re Hubs’ favorite. Won’t he be happy when he gets home tonight!
