Hubs bought me a Smartpot Crockpot several months ago after BOTH of my crock pots were broken within one weeks time. (I don’t know, sometimes stuff just happens.)
Anyway, I was really tickled with my Smartpot. It was the nicest, bestest crockpot in the store, and it was mine! I use my crockpot a LOT. At least every Sunday, for our weekly fellowship meal. But often I’ll use it a couple of times during the week as well. This is one of the most heavily used appliances I own (if you don’t count my washing machine, but that is another story for another day).
Anyway, shortly after we bought the Smartpot (btw~ I kinda say “smarty-pants-pot” in my head every time I say Smartpot) the handle on the lid broke off. %#$@!!!
Then a week later the handle/latch thingy on the other side of the lid broke and fell off. Dang! What in the world?
Then finally some more bits of the handle/latch apparatus (now I am thinking of the Olympics gymnastic competitions, are you too?) broke off and fell into the food I was cooking! I must say, that one rather perturbed me!
So now I’m down to a little broken bit of a nut/bolt/broken handle gizmo as the only thing with which to grasp the lid of my crockpot! Not good, not good at all!
Have I told ya how stinkin’ smart my Hubs is? Last Saturday I handed him the handle-free smarty-pants-pot lid and asked him if he could rig some kind of handle onto it, thereby reducing my stress level by 451% when cooking with the afore mentioned smarty-pants-pot. His solution? Yes, he could fashion a handle of some sort for me, but also, why didn’t I just call up the Crockpot people and complain and ask them to fix it.
Hmmm… smart guy.
So, I did.
They’re sending me a whole new Crockpot.
Problem solved. Thanks, Hubs!
Since they no longer even make the parts that broke on mine, I’m taking that to mean they’ve come up with a better design and that’s what I’ll be getting in the mail in 10-14 days. I’ll certainly post a photo of the NEW pot when it arrives!
