Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
I’m a little more excited about my diet today than I was last week. It helps when there are results!
Weight Loss
I actually lost a pound this week! I understand that it is better in the long run to go at a moderate pace. I’ll try to get on board with that plan!
Exercise
I only exercised walked one time last week. We’ve been very busy with the un-clutter project and I’m using that as my reason excuse justification. And while being active is good, and while un-clutterring and doing housework in general is quite active, it really only burns about 200 – 250 calories PER HOUR! And y’all, I’ve been very busy with the un-clutterring, but not 15 hours a day worth of busy. On the other hand, I have played quite a few games of very competitive ping-pong. That’s exercise!
Diet
Fail. The sugar isn’t giving me fits anymore. But, pizza? Yes, I succumb. And fried chicken? I’m sorry to say, if I’d have met the Colonel before I met Hubs… my Cowboys would be sportin’ little white goatees! Get behind me, fried chicken!
Now it’s your turn. I hope you’ve had some success this week, because nothing succeeds like success!

~snort~ Bland Rapids! I’m so sorry for you, Cyndi!
I saw Chef Rocco Dispirito use it on a Biggest Loser show to make a different dish. It was in place of regular flour to make it healthier and lower in calories. I don’t think you can bake bread with it but it would “bread” your chicken. I assume that it is just ground up chickpeas. I’m going to look for it when I go grocery shopping next but as we live in “Bland” Rapids as we jokingly refer to Grand Rapids, I’m not sure I’ll find it at the regular grocery. Hopefully, a health food store will have it. I plan on pan frying it on the stove top. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Hi, Melonie. I’m glad somebody appreciates my humor!
Chickpea flour? Seriously? There is such a thing? Lemme know how it comes out. I’m glad you volunteered for this experiment and not me.
I assume you are talking about an oven fried kinda deal?
Fried chicken is also a recipe I’m fretting about as we are lifestyle changing to healthy eating. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m thinking non-fat milk, egg-whites (no yolks), chickpea flour, oilive oil and less salt will produce a yummy but healthier fried chicken.
Totally laughing about the little white goatees. heehee I came up with a fun chicken recipe the other day, I’ll post it to my blog soon – I hope you like it. It’s not KFC but if you work the spices right it might come close?
