Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.
Our church hosted a dance this evening. The kids and grown folks all had a wonderful time.
Having been a good Baptist for 15 years, this whole concept is still kinda odd, but it’s really growing on me.
I did NOT dance, but the Cowboys did. Well, the teen aged Cowboys danced. I took several photos but haven’t had a chance to even fish my camera outta my purse, much less sort through and see if any are worth posting, and I have no idea why, but I didn’t take any video. Live and learn. I’ll remember next time.
The dances were reels, contras ( is that a thing?) and some swing. Kind of a mix of this and this.
We all had such a great time. This needs to happen way more often, like quarterly, I’m thinkin’.
Go click the links and then move the coffee table so YOU can bust a move.
Have fun!

I guess we stepped on each others toes, ‘cuz I didn’t mean to come across that way either. Of course we’re still friends.
Sorry I came across like that. I’m not saying you were wrong to go, I’m just befuddled by the idea of a church dance. But I understand if you don’t want to get into the hows and whys of it here. (sorry to not reply; we had a birthday in the house and I got behind on blogs)
Still friends?
Hi MamaOlive,
I don’t really want to try to explain why it’s alright for us to attend a church sponsored dance. This is an event that our church supports and my Hubs is in agreement.
Sorry if I’m letting you down with my non-answer to your question. It’s a rather large question and I see that you and I, likely, disagree on this one.
Well, I was raised A/G, and when our “full gospel” church announces a barn dance, we look at each other and stay away. Can you explain the dancing church to me? (I get dancing in the spirit during worship; I don’t get having “a dance.”)
I can relate. I was a good Baptist for a few years too (thankfully, not 15), and it’s kind of hard to switch gears sometimes. I’m sure the kiddos had a great time.
