LOL. I’ve heard that one before, but it’s still funny. enjoyed Cyndi’s comment too. It does make a good point. My oldest will be 15 this fall… I’m still in denial about him driving! Actually, he is my more responsible child. I think I will really get scared when my youngest takes the wheel. I think Dad better teach driver’s ed.

Oh, that’s too funny. I’m currently learning to breathe while someone younger is driving. I’ve managed okay with Ri (Kay won’t drive, doesn’t have any desire too, and since I’ve taken her out several times to try, I fully support her decision), and I’ve even done really well with Superman behind the wheel. I can do this…maybe; after all, as Cyndi says, they’ll probably be chauffering us around one day.

And that, my friend, is why we have children. All those years we spend chauffering them will be paid back when we should no longer be behind the wheel. My grandfather (Born in 1899) had the experience of having one of the first cars in his town and was very against my mother learning to drive. “Driving was for men!”. Well, she finally got her license later after she’d been married to my Dad and guess what… when my Grandpa got too old to drive safely she was the child who took him everywhere he needed to go. She did ask him once, “Aren’t you glad I learned to drive.”
