I am surprised at how much time there is in a day when it’s not full of doctor appointments! Yay!
As you can imagine, our schedule has gotten completely ignored for the past week. Actually, the last two weeks. Hubs was the first to get sick and I didn’t have time to tell you all about that, but it was his throat, so all the guilt is heaped on his shoulders {snort}.
Also, in all my reading and researching for how to help the ailing members of my family it turns out that all roads do indeed lead to wholesome foods. Time to tighten up this ship and get back on the wholesome food track!
So, now I need to remember how to do some menu planning and grocery shopping.
Don’t point out all the pitfalls in my plan, please. I’m tired and trying to get back on track in small steps ‘cuz that’s all I’m up to right now.
And, btw, the weight-loss is on hold for now. When I figure out what I’m gonna do about that I’ll post about it.
So, here we go, this week’s effort at wholesome foods for the family.
- Monday – Beans and Rice w/cornbread
- Tuesday – Spaghetti (don’t panic, I’ll use whole wheat pasta) w/broccoli
- Wednesday – Chicken Tacos w/ homemade tortillas (ya gotta try these – they’re TO DIE FOR!!!)
- Thursday – Beans & Rice w/cornbread
- Friday – Chicago Style Pizza
- Saturday – Hamburger Potato Casserole
- Sunday – Chili
Well, that’s gonna keep me plenty busy. So much for the sittin’ around getting a pedicure, resting and eating bon-bons. Oh, wait, sorry, that’s Kim. LOL!

Jen, My DH has lost 80lbs (in around 20 weeks) on pure wholesome/healthy eating and exerise. You can do it! Check your library and see if they have any cookbooks or guides from the TV show biggest loser. The diet and exercise info is really good.
