Homemade Hamburger Buns

Congratulations! You have been to to Ship Full O' Pirates over 100 times! Just thought you'd like to know.

I’ve been very intimidated by the very idea of making hamburger buns.  I have no excuse or reason, I just thought it sounded . . . difficult.

I really had to think about it and kinda talk myself into it.

I had read that some folks do it, but when it got to the part about shaping them all that was ever mentioned was “shape into buns” like it was the most natural thing in the world.  I don’t know who those ladies think they are, but I need more instruction than that.  Or that’s what I  thought, until I did it.  And really, ya just shape ‘em into buns.  Kinda the way you make a dinner roll, only flatter and, of course, larger.

go for it, Johnnie! If you’ve ever made dinner rolls you can do this, easy!

They look great :) Will have to be brave and make some myself.

Why do I not think of these things? Duh, like big biscuits! I should take naps, maybe that would help. ;)

I use a heavy-duty plastic cup with the bottom cut off. I roll out the dough as thick as I want, then use either the top or the bottom of the cup to cut buns, depending on what I want. LOTS faster than shaping each individually, though I have done that, too.

I too am intimidated with the thought of making buns. I need to do it though. Glad to hear it isn’t difficult.

I found rolling them into a ball and flatting out works well also.
