I tried, Teresa, I really did. But you kept on trying to kill me. I had to put you away, for now. When I am more fit I’ll get you out again and give you another opportunity to help me.
For now I’m gonna let Leslie help me. She’s a kinder, gentler fitness trainer. I don’t know how far she can take me. I haven’t been that driven… until now.
I am drowning in my own sea of fatigue. And I hate it. I’m tired when I get up in the morning. I’m tired mid-morning. I’m tired in the afternoon. I’m tired after supper. The only time I’m not tired is when I’m actually sleeping.
I don’t think I’m sick. I do have allergies, but I live in Texas, home of the year-round allergens. I am over-weight. Doctors would call me morbidly obese, another reason to hate doctors (just kidding, a little). Anyway, the answer to my problems is to get off my giant, round, duff and exercise.
Lord, help me.
I’m motivated… again. So, I started with T-Tapp.
Let me just give you my personal, comprehensive review of the T-Tapp exercise system.
OUCH!!!
Now lemme give you my personal, comprehensive review of Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds.
REALLY??? THAT’S ALL I HAVE TO DO?
I think about the issue all the time. I mean, how can I not think about all the extra effort it takes to do stuff because I have the equivalent of an entire extra person I have to lug around with me everyday, all the time. What a relief that will be to get that person off of my knees and feet!
John told me about the lady who lost 300 pounds in 3 years thru good old fashioned diet and exercise and that was a real help to me. Just reading about her and her efforts has inspired me to, ahem, get up and do stuff. She started off at 589 lbs and has lost 300 pounds! Go Shannon!
Here’s my plan:
- Walk with Leslie M – S in the mornings.
- Swim with my kids daily for 30 minutes in the afternoons.
- Eat like Shannon – pretty sound ideas there – also adding some brown rice, but limited serving sizes.
- Stop buying ice cream. <sigh>
Let’s see how far that takes me.
Here are a couple of recipe links, Spanish Rice, and Brown Rice Pilaf.

Thanks so much, Susan! Your comment is very timely. I had one of those moments in the mirror this morning. Your words are just the encouragement I needed this morning. Thanks! L:D
I love your blog and just wanted to encourage you in your weight loss journey. I started Weight Watchers in early April and I’m already down 33 pounds. I’m losing faster than they tell you to – but I am really staying on the program and exercising daily. When I started I couldn’t make it a couple of miles walking without panting and huge sweating. Now I walk 4 miles daily and 6 miles a couple of times a week – easily. I have about 40 more pounds to get to my goal, but I am seeing huge progress. YOU CAN DO IT. If I can – you can!! If you haven’t yet – I’d recommend a food journal or a phone app to track everything you eat. It really is helpful. Most of weight loss comes from what we eat – not exercise. Anyway – I don’t want to bore you – but I do what to say that you can do it. Don’t give up!! You are totally worth it! Again – great blog and thanks so much for sharing!!
Don’t get me started on “Natural flavorings”. Stoopid government regs.
LOL…. since you are offering the pool and all we would be glad to:) Although I would have to make it there because it would melt on the way! I cannot believe it is so hot already today.
I have not tried the ones with stevia yet, planning on it though. I found an amazing ben and jerry recipe for strawberry icecream and I used honey. It was really good I will try to find it again for you. This little machine is really easy to use, makes good creamy ice cream and not the added expenses. Also, now I know what is in the ice cream (no “natural flavorings”).
The vitamin D deficit is a biggie. Without enough vitamin D we get depressed and lethargic which makes us more depressed and lethargic. Hard to recognize when all you wanna do is curl up in a ball and sleep. Gotta make a huge effort to break that cycle, but the payoff came fairly quickly. I’m still beat at the end of the day, but not as bad as it used to be, and the earlier parts of the day go lots better, and it’s only been this week. Kinda incredible! I’m amazed at the difference in how I feel.
Diet and exercise are a great thing… but I have found that I was lacking in certain vitamins and minerals. C, calcuim, magnesium and D3…. Since I started taking them the weight is coming off a lot easier. I have lost 22 pounds since January. Now if the last 40 would just fall off today I would be very happy… LOL! Good Luck! Its hard work but you can do it!!!!
I knew that title would catch your eye, Teresa!
I need to know more about ice cream recipes using stevia. Did you like it? Do you have a recipe link for me? Could you bring your machine and come to my house and make some, please? We could enjoy a swim while it sets up!
I have been exhausted lately just want to crawl in bed and read or sleep all day!! maybe I needed to try…. but the Teresa you are trying to kill me caught my eye and confused me lol. Maybe trying some walking inside might work cause you know its way to hot to go outside and move!!
BTW I bought a cuisinart Ice cream maker (about $20)…. it does not require salt or ice. I have been finding many really good ice cream and frozen yogurt recipes usuing honey, stevia or other natural sweetners…. I made a strawberry one last week that was so healthy I let my kids eat it for breakfast….. you gotta love starting the morning with BEST MOM EVERY!! lol
Let me take a minute to encourage you to go ahead and do the exercise daily. I’ve not been regular by any stretch of the imagination, but this week I feel better than I have in a lo–o-o-o-o-ng time! Rise uo and exercise!
What a wonderful story about Shannon!
Me, too, about being tired of being obese, which makes me tired and achy. Since I’m away from my video collection I can’t do Stormie Omartian’s workouts, but I also really like Joel at http://www.realage.com/videos/?bclid=5030523001#v14990692001 . It’s free (we like free!), he’s decently dressed, and no equipment required. If only I’d do it more than once a month…
