Last week I doubled my exercise routine.  I went from doing the 1 mile walk every other day (3 days/wk) to doing it every day, 6 days a week  That was not a huge adjustment, telling me I can push myself harder.  So today I figured I’d double it again, by doing the 2 mile walk every day.

I just got done with the 2 mile walk for the first time, and I’m BEAT!  This is a BIG DEAL, PEOPLE!  This is gonna take some real effort.  The 2 mile walk is not just double the 1 mile walk.  It’s much more intense and takes about the same amount of time as the 1 mile walk.  During the workout I had thoughts of renigging on my plan and just doing a 2 mile on M-W-F and doing the 1 mile the other 3 days, but now that I’ve finished I think maybe I can accomplish my original goal of 2 miles x6 days/week.

I’ve also added swimming every day to the plan.  I love to swim, and when I get in the pool I don’t really swim the whole time.  I do stay active, it’s a play time for me and the kids.  We play games, splash each other, dunk each other, and generally horse around.  It’s a very fun way to exercise.  I also swim a few laps, but not vigorously.  I’m working on just being more active in the pool.

Being easy on myself got me into this situation.  Climbing out is gonna be difficult and it’s gonna take some time.  I’m in it for the long haul.

My “ideal” body weight is somewhere between 129 and 174.  What I wouldn’t give to see 174 on the scale, (I will see it next year) and I’m kinda getting the idea of what I’ll have to give to see it.

I’ve been working hard at loosing weight and getting fit for 3 weeks now.  I’m very excited that I’m seeing lots of benefits already.

  • I’m stronger.
  • I have more endurance.
  • My shorts are loose!

I have a long way to go to arrive at my goals, but I’ve started and I’m not gonna quit!!!
